Hello, and Welcome PDF Print E-mail

Database of names has been updated as of October 2009. 10,381 names to browse through.  Although the bare information is complete so far as I have it, the pages still need to have personal comments and pictures added. I hope to get this done in the next little while.

Hello and welcome to the Parish of North Lake, New Brunswick, the biggest little parish in York County. Thank ya all for coming by. Cool

Click on surnames in the menu to access over 10,000 names in the database, many with added information such as obit, memories, pictures, scrapbook mementoes, etc. As usual, there are a number of individuals names marked private in accordance with their desire to remain anonymous.

Occasionally, I get a question from someone such as: I never heard of North Lake. So why is my name (or my family's) included here?

Names are included here based on two criteria: either they (or their family several generations back) lived in North Lake; or there is a link to me. Probably more like an invisible thread, than a link. For example, my uncle married a Foster. Her sister married a Gorman. The Gorman children married....get the picture? So, if we go back to 1783 when my ggggggrandparents came to NB and their children married and expanded across the country, some 8 or 9 generations later, the people never heard of me - their cousin - or North Lake. Probably New Brunswick doesn't ring a bell either.

Rest assured, if your name appears on this site, it is because of one of the reasons just mentioned.

Not for a moment do I claim sole ownership to the material contained herein. Much of it has been shared with me by generous people for which I am most grateful. Some entries will refer to an individual contributor, but all of it is so interwoven it is almost impossible to tell where one contribution leaves off and the other begins. As always, if you see something amiss, or would like to fill in the blanks, drop me a line.

You will notice some personal entry data is marked [private]. Any living person from 1930 onwards is thus marked to protect the privacy of individual. Stolen identities are more common than we like to think. Contact me by email and I will share what I have.

Anyone is welcome to the information contained herein; but should be aware the material posted is done so without any guarantee as to accuracy. I will be most happy to correct or update any of the material should anyone wish to share.

However, any updates or revisions may take a little time before the results will be seen. The database has 58 different on line page views; comparing this to a printed 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, each view is 8-10 sheets. Therefore, nearly 600 sheets have to be checked and formatted before uploading. It usually takes a week to 10 days, depending on how ambitious I am.
