PRESQUE ISLE - Dorothy M. Parks, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born March 3, 1930, in Yarmouth, the daughter of Lester and Roxie (Foster) Dunning. She worked at Columbia Forest Products for 14 years, worked as a cook at George's Restaurant, Northern Maine Technical College and the University of Maine - Presque Isle. She is survived by a daughter, Luann Varney and her husband, Curtis, of Canterbury, New Brunswick; a son, Stephen Parks and his wife, Marie, of Westfield, three granddaughters, Deanna Edwards and her husband, Neil, of Canterbury, New Brunswick, Susan Skidgell and her husband, Geoffery, of Mapleton, Christine Guimond and her husband, Zenon, of Rockland; two grandsons, Alex Varney of Canterbury, New Brunswick and Philip Brown and his wife, Sandy, of Mapleton; five great-granddaughters, Kolby and Kylee Edwards of Canterbury, New Brunswick, Erica Smith and Amy Thurlow of Mapleton and Brittney Guimond of Rockland; one great-grandson, Ryan Guimond of Rockland; a sister-in-law, Shirley Parks of Debec, New Brunswick; a brother-in-law, Lynwood Brown of Robinson; a brother and sister-in-law, Waymen and Mable Foster of St. John, New Brunswick, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wendell Parks in 1989; and a sister, Floris Duntley in 2006. Medway - Marilyn E. Boone, 77, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, with her loving husband of 61 years by her side. She was born November 30, 1933 in Little Deer lsle to Doris Eaton. Marilyn touched many lives and was loved by all who knew her. Marilyn is survived by her husband Royce Boone of Medway; daughters Sandra Dean of North Carolina and Annette Fitzgerald and her husband Paul of Millinocket; son Neal Boone and his wife Chris of Millinocket; sister Shirley Carville of Little Deer lsle; brother Linden Eaton of New Paltz, New York; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Charming Nuptials in St. Paul's Church [1948] A wedding of interest took place on Thursday afternoon, May 13th, when Rev. J. Arthur Forbes united in marriage Althea Helena, daughter of Mr and Mrs Edwin Farrell, of Fosterville, NB, and William Hickson Vye, son of Mr and Mrs Hiram Vye, of Doughlastown, NB
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white Duchess satin with ragamuffin sleeves, having a full skirt and train. She wore a strand of pearls, a gift of the groom, and carried a cascade bouquet of pink Talisman roses. Mrs Pearl Crain, as Matron of honor, was gowned in yellow crepe, with smoked puffed sleeves and peplum, should length veil and elbow length mitts, and carried a nosegay of sweetpeas and roses.
The bridesmaids, Miss Grace Estey and Miss Muriel Hall, wore long-torso gowns with bustle effect of nylon taffeta in mauve and nile gree, shoulder length veils and elbow length mitts and carried nosegays of sweetpeas and roses. Myron Vye, brother of the groom, was best man, and the ushers were Frank Ryan and John Hall. Miss Joan Estey sang "I Love You Truly" and "Oh Promise Me", and Mrs L.A. Dyson played the nuptial music.
Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel, where the guests were received by the bridal party and the bride's mother, gowned in a navy blue dress with fuchsia accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses. The groom's mother was gowned in a turquoise dress and black accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses.
For traveling the bride wore a tailored grey suit with grey plaid cape to match, and mulberry hat and accessories, and wore a corsage of roses. The couple left on a wedding trip through Maine and Boston.
The bride is a graduate of the Canterbury High School, Canterbury, and Normal School, Fredericton, and before her marriage was on the staff of the Gaiety Women's Shoppe. The groom is a graduate of Harkins High School, Newcastle, NB, and the Maritime Ranger School, Fredericton, and is on the staff of the NB Forest Service in Newcastle. Mr and Mrs Vye are residing in Newcastle.

Althea Helena Farrell, 90, passed away peacefully at Parkstone Enhanced Care in Halifax on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born in Fosterville, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Edith Farrell.Bunny will be truly missed as she was a loving mother, adoring grandmother and loyal friend. Her pleasant smile and caring personality defined her character. Bunny graduated from Normal School in Fredericton and taught for a year in Perth Andover. She later married and moved to the Miramichi where she lived until four years ago when she moved to the Halifax area. During her lifetime, Bunny was actively involved in her community. She was a member of the Eastern Star-Prince Charles Chapter, where she held the position of Worthy Matron. She was also appointed a Grand Representative commissioned to a chapter in British Columbia. Over the years, Bunny was a member of St. Mark’s United Church in Douglastown. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served on the Board of Stewarts, was a member of the U.C.W. and visited the sick and shut-in for the church. She received the Merit Award for years of volunteer work which included Meals On Wheels - 20+ years, served on the Board of Directors for the Food Bank, assisted with taking meals to the Salvation Army once a month and volunteered at the hospital and gift shop. Her passions included spending time with family and friends, playing golf, line dancing, bowling and playing bridge. She enjoyed many wonderful summers with family and friends at the cottage in East Point.She is survived by daughter, Debby (Roger) White; 2 sons, Glen (Beth) Vye and Derek (Kathy) Vye; grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew and Jonathan White; Erin (Vye) Cogswell; Wendell Vye and Samantha (Vye) Seely; great grandchildren, Andrea White; William White; Mya and Riley Cogswell; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Bunny was predeceased by her best friend and husband, William (Bill) Vye, her only sibling, Horace Farrell and eldest granddaughter, Amanda Vye.A special thank you is extended to the staff on Point Pleasant Way, Parkstone-Enhanced Care for all of your care and compassion.The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4th at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews United Church, 188 Wellington Street, Chatham NB. They were 73 years of age. Supper was enjoyed by all and two birthday cakes were presented to them by Mrs Arthur Graham of Canterbury, NB, and Mrs Marshall Davidson. Those who attended were Mr and Mrs Arthur Graham and family of Canterbury, Mr William Donovan of Canterbury, Mr and Mrs Frank Graham and family of Maxwell, NB, Mr Lee Watson, Ferne Watson, Clifford and Clayton and Everett Watson of Masxwell, Mrs Addie Graham, Mr and Mrs Marshall Davidson and family, Mr and Mrs Ray Graham and family of Mackey Settlement, Mr and Mrs William Davidson of Lower Woodstock, NB, and Mrs Emery Farrell. Singing hymns was enjoyed by all and the party broke up wishing Mrs Graham and Mr Farell many more happy birthdays.
Mrs Amanda G. Graham [1956] The death of Amanda G Graham, widow of Daniel Graham, occurred at her home at Eel River Lake.
She was 83 and had been in failing health for six months. She was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Farrell of North Lake, York County.
She is survived by five sons: Frank of Maxwell, York County; Ambrose of Houlton, Me.; Arthur of Canterbury; Emery and Albert at home. Two daughters and one son predeceased her. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A twin brother, Emery Farrell, North Lake, also survives.
Funeral service was held from the home to the Baptist Church at Eel River Lake, Rev. M. Hicks officiating. Pallbearers were Eric and Floyd Smith, Emery Armour, and Charles Hawkes. Burial was at Fosterville.Burial - Fosterville, NB

A very pretty wedding took place on the 19th ult. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Farrell of Eel River, when their son, Ambrose, and Miss Bird Graham of Pemberton, were united in marriage by Rev. C.N. Barton. The ceremony took place on the place in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends of the contracting parties. The bride was becomingly dressed in blue silk with white lace trimming. The many useful presents received by both bride and groom showed how popular the young couple are.

[1947] A pretty wedding took place at the Congregational Parsonage at Houlton, Me., on Wednesday, April 16 at four o'clock when Rev Gilbert Condit using the double ring service, united in marriage, Bernice Vivian, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Medley Farrell of Woodstock, NB to Arnard Reginald, only son of Mr and Mrs M.G. Nobel of Littletown [sic, Maine.
The bride looked charming in a light b lue wool suit with black accessories, and wore a corsage of pink roses and maidenhair fern.
Miss Glenna Farrelll, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a sky blue wool suit with black accessories and wore a corsage of red roses and maidenhair fern.
Mr Ronny Brewer of Littleton acted as groomsman.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride's home where buffet luncheon was served to about forty five guests.
The bride's table was covered with a lace cloth centred by a three tier wedding cake surmounted by a miniature bride and groom, and flanked with spring flowers and white tapers in silver holders, streamers of pink and white extended from the ceiling to the four corners of the table, while in the centre hung a large white bell.
Girl friends of the bride served; the Misses BEtty Moffatt, Mary Little, Lenore Guy, Mary Gallagher, Marjorie Thornton.
The bride's gift to the bridesmaid was a set of sterling silver earrings; the groom's gift to the groomsman was a leather billfold.
The happy couple left by car for Mass. and other parts of the States. For going away the bride donne a turquoise blue coat with gold nail head trimmed.
The bride and groom were the recipients of many lovely gifts including silver, china, linen, electrical appliances and money. On the young couple's return, they will reside in Littleton.

A pretty candlelight wedding took place at the Marne United Baptist church when Joan Marie, daughter of Mr and Mrs Guy Durling, of Canterbury, was united in marriage with Clayton George Farrell, son of Mrs Nellie Gillispie and the late Robert Farrell of Fosterville. Rev. Henry Alaby officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The altar was adorned with baskets of gladioli and lilies of the valley marked the guest pews.
Given in marriage by her father the bride was attended by bridesmaid, Mrs Aubrey Dow, sister of the bride. The flower girl was trudy Farrell, niece of the groom and the ring bearer was Christopher Farrell, nephew of the groom.
Aubrey Dow was groomsman and Roland Farrell and Alvin Farrell were ushers. Mrs Guy Grant played the nuptial music and accompanied the guest soloist Miss Eileen Ritchie who rendered two solos "O Perfect Love" and the "Wedding Prayer." The bride wore a floor length A-line gown of white peau de soie trimmed with blue velvet ribbon with floor length train. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses. A head piece of white roses and seed pearls held her should length veil. For jewellery she wre a gold cross necklace, a gift of the groom.
The bridesmaid wore a floor length gown of turquoise organza over taffeta trimmed with white lace with an organza train. She carried a bouquet of mums tinted turquoise and yellow.
The mother of the brided was attired in an aqua fortrel dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink and white mums. The mother of the groom wore a blue dress of lace over taffeta with white accessories and a corsage of blue and white mums.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the United Church hall, Canterbury. For their wedding trip the bride wore a green dress with white accessories and a corsage of white and green tinted mums.
Mr and Mrs Farrell will reside in Woodstock where the groom is employed with Gerald Hawkes and the bride will be teaching at Broadway School.

Horace S. Farrell of McAdam, NB passed away peacefully, January 7, 2014 at DECH in Fredericton NB. Born in 1928 in Fosterville, NB, he was the son of the late Edwin and Edith (Collier) Farrell. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Florence (Gould) of Canterbury NB in 2011.Horace will be best remembered as a skilled equipment operator and heavy equipment mechanic for St. Croix Pulpwood / Georgia Pacific, in St. Croix, NB where he lived and worked for most of his career. After retirement he and Florence moved to a new home in Harvey, NB where they lived happily for over 30 years.Horace is survived by a sister, Althea (Bunny) Vye of Nova Scotia; a daughter, Dale Grant (Murray), Perth Andover, NB; two sons, Garnett Farrell (Janet), Ancaster, ON and Perry Farrell (Cathy), McAdam, NB; three granddaughters, Jessica Grant, Laura Leslie/Farrell (James), Cassidy Farrell; a great grandson Maxwell James Leslie; several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Friday January 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church, 53 Rockland Drive, McAdam, NB. She was born in Woodstock, NB, Canada on March 31, 1946, the daughter of Leslie and Cecilia (Veysey) Farrell. She is survived by her children: Bert and Sandy Budge Jr., Brent and Connie Budge, Robert and Lori Budge, Frederick Budge, Brandi and Sabrina Rideout; step-children: Lynn Conary, Bret Rideout, Bart Rideout and Wendy Noonan; her brother: Lawrence and his wife Lee Farrell; three sisters: Glenna Derrick, Peggy and Maurice Leach, Jolayne DiCentes and Tommy Coon; her aunt: Joyce Veysey; sisters-in-law: Marilyn, Carol, Sandra, Judy and Ginny; brothers-in-law: Bob and Chuck and friend; Jill Pelkey Desmarais. She also leaves behind many treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Janice worked many years early on in her life at Top Gas in Millinocket, and Forster’s Mill, Keag Market and Crossroad’s restaurant in Mattawamkeag. She was a member of the Mattawamkeag Baptist church and also worked hard on “Community Pride” projects and events. She always had a kind word for everyone and was willing to give a helping hand to those in need. She cherished her children and grandchildren. Green Mountain, Nov. 7, 1959 - A wedding of interest took place at the Baptist parsonage when Rev. Henry Allaby united in marriage Joyce Lenora Farrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Farrell and Charles Hazen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fish of Fosterville.
The bride looked charming in a ballerina length gown of white satin with nylon and lace jacket. Her tiara was of sequins and pearls. She wore a fingertip veil and white accessories. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
The bridesmaid was Gail Carr. She was attired in a light blue satin with lace dress with net over-skirt. She wore blue accessories and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
The best man was Curtis A. Foster. After the wedding ceremony, the bridal party motored to the Windsor Hotel where supper was served. They then motored from Houlton, Maine, to the home of the bride's parents where many friends gathered for an old-fashioned charivari.
Outside guests were from Fredericton, Canterbury, Woodstock, Jacksonville, Forest City, Eel River Lake and Fosterville.
The happy couple is residing at Green Mountain. On November 20th they will be tendered to a shower for them at the home of Mrs Maurice Farrell. Those to be in charge are Mrs Nina Wood, Mrs Gordon Foster and Mrs Maurice Farrell.

It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Lenora Fish (Farrell) of Green Mountain NB, who passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 79.
Joyce was born on April 8, 1942 to the late Robert and Sarah Farrell in Green Mountain NB.
Joyce is survived by her children Ronald (Marlene), Louise, Diane (Jeff) and Brian (Joan), grandchildren Jeremy, Rebekah, Allison, Crystal, Charles, Evelyn, Trevor, Melissa, Thomas, Adam, Kelly and Evan, along with several Great Grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by her sister Jane Farrell, Brothers Clayton, Roland and Freeman and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband Charles Fish, Sister Annie, Brothers Louis, Maurice, Nellis and Hedley and son in law Lyndon Canam.
Grave side service will be held on Friday October 8, 2021 at 1PM at the Upper Fosterville Cemetery.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his children, Alvin Farrell (Melinda) of Woodstock, Emily Nicholson (Floyd) of Grafton, Patricia Watson of Fredericton, and Nancy English (Wilfred) of Dead Creek; grandchildren Darlene Lawrence (Derek), Darren Farrell (Jill Fox), Tony Nicholson (Michelle), and Darcy Tomah (Tony Tupper); great grandchildren Chelsey Tomah, Tristan Tomah, Kiley Nicholson, and Ryan Nicholson; sisters Joyce Fish of Fosterville and Jane Farrell of Woodstock; brothers Freeman (Jacqueline) of Fosterville, Clayton of Fosterville, Hedley (Betty) of Woodstock, Nellis of Lower Woodstock, Roland (Deborah) of Fosterville, and Maurice of Kirkland; and several nieces and nephews. Madison C. Farrell, aged 53 years, of St. Croix, NB, passed away in Victoria Public Hospital, Fredericton, on Saturday morning, August 16th following a lingering illness.
Mr Farrell has resided at St. Croix for the past seven years. He was born at Fosterville, son of the late Stephen and Ida (Cropley) Farrell.
Left to mourn are his wife, the former Theresa Farrell of Fosterville; son, Hillery Farrell, aged 9 years; four brothers, Everett and Edwin of Fosterville, and Cecil and Amos of New Westminister, BC; one sister, Mrs Louella Buckingham of Fosterville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Remains rested at Flewelling's funeral home until removed to the home of Edwin Farrell, brother of the deceased, on Sunday. Funeral service was held Monday, August 18th, with prayers at the home at 2 p.m. and service at the Baptist Church with Lic. Mr Parker officiating, assisted by Lic. Mr Bird of McAdam. Music was rendered by the church choir.

BREWER - Mildred I. Bowden, 82, passed on peacefully, Tuesday, June 6, 2006, with her children by her side at a Bangor nursing home. She was born April 18, 1924, in Forest City, the youngest daughter of Ambrose and Bird (Graham) Farrell. Mildred was a devoted Mom, Gramma, Mimi and great-great-Gramma. She enjoyed her flower garden, crocheting, embroidery, crossword puzzles, reading and writing poetry. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Dana Stillman; three brothers, Kenneth, Ernest and Richard; two sons, Stephen and Alan; a grandson, Freddie and her second husband, George Bowden. FARRELL, PAUL JASPER - Of North Lake, husband of Marjorie E. (Armour) Farrell, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the age of 82. Born at North Lake, he was the son of the late C. Emery and Nellie (Foster) Farrell. In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by two sons, Cameron Farrell (Rhonda) of North Lake and Kevin Farrell (Janey) of Richmond Corner; a daughter, Becky Betts (Edward) of Saint John; two grandsons, Kyle Farrell and Lance Farrell; several nieces and nephews. Paul was also predeceased by one sister, Ethel Messer. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. FORT FAIRFIELD - Richard E. Farrell, 81, died Nov. 16, 2004, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born March 23, 1923, in Forest City, Maine, the youngest son of Ambrose and Bird (Graham) Farrell. He was a life time member of the Ray Goding Post No. 88, American Legion in Presque Isle, Hayward-Frazier Post No. 2599, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Aroostook Lodge No. 197 in Mars Hill for 42 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florence (Graves) Farrell of Fort Fairfield; four daughters, Bird Armstrong and her husband, Dale, of Fort Fairfield, Kandis Pape and her husband, Robert, of Hope Mills, N.C., Tama Palmer and her husband, Jerry, of Presque Isle and Marla Rice of Scarborough; two sons, Scott Farrell and his wife, Melissa, of North Pole, Alaska, Todd R. Farrell and his wife, Danielle, of Pawcatuck, Conn.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Bowden of Brewer and Dorothy Day of Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Christen Palmer; two brothers, Kenneth and Ernest Farrell; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fraser and Cora Graves. THREE BROOKS, NB - Robert B. Farrell of Diane's Villa, of Three Brooks, NB passed away at Tobique Valley Hospital on March 5, 2005. Born in Riley Brook on April 22, 1927. He was the son of the late Wesley and Frances Horne Farrell. Robert is survived by his sister, Mrs. Irene (Gerald) Giberson of Upper Kintore, NB. Fosterville [1968] Funeral services were held here for Robert L. Farrell who passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was 67 years of age.
Mr Farrell was active in community affairs and had served on the Canterbury School Board for a number of years. He was a member of the Orange Lodge.
The son of Elmer and Annie (Foster) Farrell, he is survived by his wife, the former Nellie O'Hearn; three daughters, Mrs Melvin Varney, Mrs Thomas DeWitt, Woodstock; Mrs Charles Fish; seven sons, Lewis, Freeman, Morris [sic, Clayton, Roband [sic, Hedley, all of Fosterville; Nellis of Woodstock, and 23 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Green Mountain Baptist Church, Rev. Melvin Fawcett officiated, assisted by Rev. Victor Parker. Members of the Orange Lodge of Fosterville conducted a graveside service at the Upper Cemetery, Fosterville Pallbearers were Marvin Foster, Gordon Foster, Paul Farrell, Samuel Collier, Thomas Collier and Basil Boone.The death of Robert L. Farrell, age 67, occurred suddenly at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, on July 22, 1968.
Born at North Lake, York County, the son of the late Mr and Mrs John Elmer Farrell. He was a member of the Green Mountain Baptist Church for many years. He resided all his life at Fosterville, NB, He was also assistant clerk of the Green Mountain Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife the former Nellie (Ohearn), seven sons, Lewis, Freeman, Maurice, Fosterville; Nellis, Woodstock; Clayton, Hedley and Roland at home. Three daughters Mrs Melvin Varney (Annie), Canterbury; Mrs Charles Fish Jr., (Joyce), Fosterville; Mrs Thomas DeWitt (Jane), Woodstock; 2 aunts, one uncle, 23 grandchildren, one sister deceased him 34 years ago.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. from Green Mountain Baptist Church, Lic. M. Fawcett officiating assisted by Lic. V. Parker, Peticodiac, NB Hymns sung by the choir "Good Night and Good Morning", "I Won't Have To Cross Jordon Alone" Pallbearers were Paul Farrell, Marvin Foster, Gordon Foster, Thomas Collier, Samuel Collier and Basil W. Boone.
